“Originally this tunnel was built according to Nabisco’s request with 5 layers, but was extended latter to 7, this due to the high speed wrapper running at 1500/1600 p/min.
This cooling is able to cool 2400kg/h with the PACTEC high speed wrappers type WHD or WHF, this amount due to their “flying rotary cutter” where product don’t need to be too cold, product temperature +/- 30 to 34°C at wrapper infeed.
If you are using different wrappers like GD 1200 or Pactec U1 than product need to be at lower temperature at wrapper infeed (25 to 28°C). But with this types of machines the residence time in the tunnel will be 1/3 longer because the wrapper speed is only at maximum of 1000P/min. This means that as well the cooling tunnel can feed this type of machines.
If wrapper speed doesn’t exceed 800/min it will be possible to run up to 6 ropes in this tunnel by replacement of the extruder head.
The temperature range in this tunnel is from 2 to 20°C.
